		<description>this is beautiful. thank you for writing it. while i had the extreme privilege of being white, i understand the game you play of pretending to be as "good" as your peers. it's a constant dance of who can know what, who can see what. i was ashamed to give people my full address because of the apartment number, until i was almost out of high school. no one would believe i was good enough if they knew where i really lived, who my neighbors were. i'm glad to have grown beyond that, self-esteem wise, but i still have fears of returning to it. i still tend to base my own self-worth on the fact that my bank account is healthier than my mother's ever was.</description>
